Supported by Berlin state funding program respectABel we were working with Roma and non-Roma young people in Neukölln and Wedding. Result is a youth group which is producing a play about mobbing and will play in school in Wedding in cooperation with Jugendquartiersrat Soldiner Kiez.
Theatreweek be.RO-Mania from 19th till 24th November 2012 Berlin
The Initiatives Kuringa and RomaTrial Berlin and the NGO CEDS from Bucharest are looking forward to announce in the Theaterweek be.RO-Mania from 19th till 24th of November 2012 Berlin in the framework of the Romanian-German Exchange project "Respect for all is a Human Right - Bringing democracy on stage in schools”. The exchange is supported by the foundation EVZ in its program “Europeans for peace” and aims to establish 2 Forum Theatre groups with young Roma and Non Roma in Berlin and Bucharest. Both groups produce their plays with the aim to initiate a creative dialogue about democracy in schools. The setup of the Berlin group is locally supported by the Respectabel program of the JFSB foundation.
While the day the romanian group will present their play in schools of Berlin to discuss with Roma and Non Roma young people about discrimination and democracy in schools. Friday, 23rd of Nov at 12h the group will follow the invitation of Berlin-Mitte district mayor to visit the Roma Holocaust Memorial in the Tiergarten close to the Reichstag.
23rd at 19hthe group will present their forum theatre play in public at Kuringa theatre, Gruentaler Strasse 35 (S-Bahn Bornholmer Str.). On 24th at 11h the group will present forum theatre scenes on social injustice together with young people fromBerlin at the jugendforum in the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin.
